Educational Why Do Tonsil Stones Hurt Information:

Tonsils are filled with crevices where bacteria and other materials, including dead cells and mucus, can become trapped. When this occurs, the debris can become concentrated in white formations that occur in the pockets. Tonsilloliths are formed when this trapped debris combines and hardens, or calcifies. This tends to occur most often in people who suffer from chronic inflammation in their tonsils or repeated bouts of tonsillitis. These calculi are composed of calcium salts such as hydroxyapatite or calcium carbonate apatite, oxalates and other magnesium salts or containing ammonium radicals, macroscopically appear white or yellowish in color, and are usually of small size - though there have been occasional reports of large tonsilloliths or calculi in peritonsillar locations. While many people have small tonsilloliths that develop in their tonsils, it is quite rare to have such a large and solidified tonsil stone.

Typical means and practices for the removal of tonsil stones:

One way is to use a stainless steel long handled spoon 7.5 inches. You would need to force the stone out from beneath. This method works easier if the stone is older and harder. You can even use tweezers to pluck the stone out. The use of pulsating irrigation to clear out the crypts of gathered debris may also help (using an adjustable unit over a low pressure setting or a needleless Monoject syringe to avoid damaging tissue.) Alternately medicine droppers (especially one with a curved tip) are used to suck out the less massive stones. Using such a medicine dropper to first irrigate the area with saline which may help to bring the tonsil stone to the surface from which it can then be more easily sucked out with the dropper. To lessen gagging people often consider using everyday items, such as toothpicks, as small tools rather then using a bigger finger. It's not advisable due to the danger of the short light toothpick/object being released and breathed into the throat. Use guardedness when attempting any of the methods in the list above. The tonsils and throat are very delicate, and can be hurt or agitated quite easily.

Tonsilloliths

Since I do know the things they are and just how cheap and easy it is to destroy Tonsil Stones, I almost feel moronic or like I've been duped. All of this time, I figured I'd some certain illness or something and put in a small fortune on visits to the doctor and medications. Very little did I know up until just a 30 days ago.....

I've been overwhelmed by these annoying tiny problems for years and up until not too long ago I really didn't know what the heck they were. I've been to the physician, encountered some down-right horrible sore throats, had dreadful ear aches, nasty breath that wouldn't disappear and tried all kinds of things to get rid of them.

They'd come and go, appear and disappear at all the most awful times you could think of. My first trip to my doctor to actually question him about them got me a vague answer about some form of throat infection and a dose of antibiotics which didn't eliminate squat! I swear I made 5 different visits and was put on three different prescriptions none of which did a bit of good.

Bear in mind that I had NO IDEA exactly what it was. Finally he told me that the only method to get rid of them was to have my tonsils taken out. Help!!

Then he said it was not suggested for a person to have their tonsils taken out after they reach a certain age not to mention how much it would cost. So did I do that? Heck no!

So I started digging them out, using all kinds of mouthwash, gargling 3 times each day and maybe a couple of days I wouldn't see them but, VOILA...they always came back. I've stuck so many different things in my mouth to try and dig them out, It's actually not even funny! Well...actually yes it truly is funny.

Well, skip forward to the main part. How I realised what they were and how to get rid of them once for all in about 3 weeks. I actually found this little woman accidentally, looked over her information, tried it and now I'm one Delighted, Tonsil Stone free guy now! I am not kidding around when I say, the crappy breath, throat soreness, ear aches.....ALL Eliminated! ;-)
