When you have 1 or everyone of these difficulties, my friend, you almost certainly have Tonsil Stones...

  • Cough that doesn't appear to have a reason and won't disappear.

  • Sore throat or mild ear aches, or a strange pressure in your ears.

  • You feel like some thing is jammed at the back of your throat and will not come out.

  • The development of yellow or white, tiny balls on the tonsils or back edges of your throat that Keep on coming back.

Facts, General & Interesting Why Do Tonsil Stones Hurt Information:

Tonsil Stones are irregularly shaped, whitish/yellow, foul-smelling globs of mucous and bacteria that get caught in the tonsils. They form in the tonsil crypts which are simply small pockets or divots that appear in everyones tonsils. The scientific name for these white globs is tonsilloliths which literally means 'tonsil stones'.

Tonsil Stones don't do any physical harm, and sporadically coughing them up doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with you. However they can be annoying (who wants to cough up a tonsil stone when they are kissing someone!), and sometimes they are an indication that you have bad breath.

Prevalent ways and practices for clearing away tonsil stones:

One method is to use a metal long handled spoon 7.5 inches. You would need to force the stone out from beneath. This process works easier when the stone is older and harder. You can also use tweezers to pluck the stone out. The use of pulsating irrigation to clear out the crypts of gathered debris may also help (using an adjustable unit on the low pressure setting or a needleless Monoject syringe to prevent yourself from damaging tissue.) Alternately medicine droppers (especially one with a curved tip) are used to suck out the more compact stones. Using such a medicine dropper to first irrigate the area with saline which may help to bring the tonsil stone to the surface from which it can then be more easily sucked out with the dropper. To relieve gagging people at times consider using everyday objects, like toothpicks, as small tools rather then using a bigger finger. It's not encouraged due to the danger of the short lightweight toothpick/object being released and breathed into the throat. Use extreme care when trying any of the methods as listed above. The tonsils and throat are incredibly sensitive, and can be injured or inflammed very easily.

Throat Stones

Given that I know what they are and how cheap and straightforward it is to destroy Tonsil Stones, I almost feel brainless or like I've been duped. All of this time, I believed I had some severe illness or something and paid out a small fortune on doctor visits and solutions. Very little did I know up until just a 30 days ago.....

I have been bothered by these cruddy tiny problems for years and up until not too long ago I really didn't know what the heck they were. I've been to the doctor, encountered some down-right serious sore throats, had painful ear aches, nasty breath that wouldn't vanish entirely and tried all kinds of tricks to remove them.

They'd come and go, appear and disappear at all the worst times you could imagine of. My first trip to my doctor to actually question him about them got me a vague answer about some sort of throat infection and a dose of antibiotics which didn't get rid of squat! I swear I made 5 different visits and was put on three different prescriptions none of which did a bit of good.

Bear in mind that I had NO IDEA what it was. Finally he told me that the only method to make them go away was to have my tonsils taken out. Help!!

Then he told me it was not recommended for a person to have their tonsils removed after they reach a certain age not to mention how much it would cost. So did I do that? Heck no!

So I started digging them out, using loads of mouthwash, gargling three times a day and maybe a couple of days I wouldn't see them but, VOILA...they always came back. I've stuck so many different things in my mouth to try and dig them out, It's not even funny! Well...actually yes it is funny.

Well, skip ahead to the key part. How I realised what they were and how to remove them once and for all in about 3 weeks. I actually found this little lady unintentionally, looked over her information, tried it and now I'm one Contented, Tonsil Stone free guy now! I'm not kidding around when I say, the stool breath, throat discomfort, ear aches.....ALL No longer! ;-)
