General and Interesting Tonsilloliths Texture Information:

Tonsilloliths, or tonsil stones, are small bits of calcareous matter that develop in the crevasses of the tonsils. Discover more about it here.

In some individuals very little, hard, calcareous lumps, which you'll find white-colored in color, occur in the crevasses of the tonsils, also referred to as tonsillar crypts. These lumps, referred to as tonsilloliths, or calculus of the tonsil, or tonsil stones, can range in size from tiny little bits to pea sized ones and they have a tendency of staying lodged in the region of the tonsils for a period of time, until they are dislodged finally. They are usually accompanied by a strong smell emanating from the tonsils, and a person afflicted with tonsilloliths goes through a physical sensation of something being lodged in the back part of the throat.

Basic techniques and practices for the removal of tonsil stones:

One method is to use a stainless long handled spoon 7.5 inches. You would need to press the stone out from beneath. Using this method works easier when the stone is older and harder. Additionally you can use tweezers to pluck the stone out. The use of pulsating irrigation to clear out the crypts of gathered debris may also help (using an adjustable unit on the low pressure setting or a needleless Monoject syringe in order to avoid damaging tissue.) Alternately medicine droppers (especially one with a curved tip) are used to suck out the less massive stones. Using such a medicine dropper to first irrigate the area with saline which may help to bring the tonsil stone to the surface from which it can then be more easily sucked out with the dropper. To get relief from gagging people often consider using everyday items, for example toothpicks, as small tools rather then using a much larger finger. It's not recommended due to the danger of the short lightweight toothpick/object being released and breathed into the throat. Use extreme care when attempting any of the methods listed above. The tonsils and throat are incredibly sensitive, and can be harmed or agitated very easily.

Throat Stones

Now that I realize the things they are and how cheap and straightforward it is to destroy Tonsil Stones, I almost feel moronic or like I've been duped. All this time, I assumed I'd some certain illness or something and spent a small fortune on visits to the doctor and medications. Very little did I know up until just a calendar month ago.....

I've been bothered by these unsightly tiny problems for years and up until a short time ago I had no clue what the heck they were. I've been to the physician, undergone some down-right awful sore throats, had bad ear aches, nasty breath that wouldn't go away and tried all kinds of junk to remove them.

They'd come and go, appear and disappear at all the worst times you may realise of. My first visit to my doctor to actually ask him about them got me a hazy answer about some sort of throat infection and a dose of antibiotics which didn't eliminate squat! I swear I made 5 different visits and was placed on three different prescriptions none of which did a bit of good.

Remember though that I really didn't know exactly what it was. Finally he told me that the only way to make them go away was to have my tonsils taken out. Goodness!!

Then he informed me it was not advised for a person to have their tonsils taken out after they reach a particular age not to mention how much it would cost. So did I do that? Heck no!

So I started digging them out, using all types of mouthwash, gargling 3 times per day and maybe a few days I would not see them but, VOILA...they always returned. I've stuck a wide variety of things in my mouth to try and dig them out, It's actually not even funny! Well...actually yes it really is funny.

Well, skip on to the most crucial part. How I discovered what they were and how to get rid of them permanently in about 3 weeks. I actually found this little lady accidentally, read her info, tried it and now I'm one Satisfied, Tonsil Stone free guy now! I'm not kidding when I say, the crappy breath, throat aggravation, ear aches.....ALL Long gone! ;-)
