Facts, General & Interesting Throat White Spots Pictures Information:
Tonsilloliths, or tonsil stones, are small pieces of calcareous matter that form in the crevasses of the tonsils.
In some people small, hard, calcareous lumps, which are white in color, occur in the crevasses of the tonsils, also called tonsillar crypts. These lumps, known as tonsilloliths, or calculus of the tonsil, or tonsil stones, can range in size from tiny little bits to pea sized ones and they have a tendency of remaining lodged in the area of the tonsils for a period of time, until they are dislodged finally. They are usually accompanied by a foul smell emanating from the tonsils, and a person afflicted with tonsilloliths experiences a physical sensation of something being lodged in the rear part of the throat.
Tonsil stones form due to a buildup of dead skin cells along with other non-cellular and cellular debris that get washed down the rear part of the throat from the nasal cavities and sinuses and get lodged in the crypts of the tonsils. Those who are afflicted with postnasal drip usually have tonsil stones since there is a regular flow of sinus drainage and mucus via the tonsils.
How to remove them:
One way is to use a stainless steel long handled spoon 7.5 inches. You would have to push the stone out from beneath. This technique works easier when the stone is older and harder. You could use tweezers to pluck the stone out. The usage of pulsating irrigation to clear out the crypts of built up debris may also help (using an adjustable unit with a low pressure setting or a needleless Monoject syringe to prevent yourself from damaging tissue.) Alternately medicine droppers (especially one with a curved tip) are utilized to suck out the less massive stones. Using such a medicine dropper to first irrigate the area with saline which may help to bring the tonsil stone to the surface from which it can then be more easily sucked out with the dropper. To lessen gagging people at times consider using everyday items, for example toothpicks, as small tools rather then using a larger finger. This is not advised due to the danger of the short lightweight toothpick/object being released and breathed into the throat. Use careful attention when attempting any of the methods listed above. The tonsils and throat are extremely sensitive, and can be harmed or inflammed quite easily.
Given that I know what they are and just how cheap and easy it is to destroy Tonsil Stones, I almost feel dumb or like I've been duped. All this time, I was thinking I'd some severe illness or something and put in a small fortune on doctor visits and solutions. Little did I know up until just a calendar month ago.....
I've been plagued by these foul little things for years and up until a short time ago I had no clue what the heck they were. I've been to the physician, suffered some down-right distressing sore throats, had painful ear aches, nasty breath that wouldn't go away completely and tried all kinds of stuff to get rid of them.
They'd come and go, appear and disappear at all the worst times you could imagine of. My first visit to my doctor to actually question him about them got me a hazy answer about some sort of throat infection and a dose of antibiotics which didn't eliminate squat! I swear I made 5 different visits and was put on three different prescriptions none of which did a bit of good.
Bear in mind that I really didn't know what it was. Finally he told me that the only method to get rid of them was to have my tonsils removed. Goodness!!
Then he told me it was not recommended for a person to have their tonsils removed after they reach a particular age not to mention just how much it would cost. So did I do that? Heck no!
So I started digging them out, using all types of mouthwash, gargling 3 times each day and maybe a couple of days I might not see them but, VOILA...they always returned. I've stuck so many different things in my mouth to try and dig those things out, It's actually not even funny! Well...actually yes it is funny.
Well, skip ahead to the key part. How I found out what they were and how to get rid of them permanently in about 3 weeks. I actually found this little woman unintentionally, read her info, tried it and now I'm one Satisfied, Tonsil Stone free guy now! I'm not joking when I say, the crap breath, throat irritability, ear aches.....ALL Long gone! ;-)
